I truly believe that everyone has a story to tell, some unique knowledge to share, or some experience that people want to know about. Until the new model of self-publishing came along it was just an unrealistic dream for most authors to even think about having their work published let alone seeing their eBook being sold right next to the best-selling authors in the stores of the major retailers. Now, with the advances in technology and the spread of computers, writers have been empowered and inspired with the knowledge that they can share their work with a global audience or readers.

Most eBook authors fail to make any real money because they have just don’t understand what is required in promoting both themselves and their eBook. The authors I have advised over the years have focused on getting their potential customers to their sales page and then trying to convince them to buy right then and there. With the online marketing model of today it is more about promoting you as an author, your niche topic, engaging your ideal reader and building and nurturing a relationship with your target audience. From there you can sell!
Ask yourself how you make your purchases when it comes to buying a book, going to a movie or buying music? Most often you will know what author you are looking for before you enter the bookstore. What the movie is about and who the actors are that are in the movie before you go to the cinema. You would have likely already heard the songs from the radio prior to going out and buying their songs. This is due to the fact that you are more likely to know what you are getting before you decide to buy.
You may have had past experiences with the film director, actors, musicians or authors in the past that have provided you with a ‘happy experience’ that gets you coming back for more. To summarise, ‘You have already been Pre-Sold!’
As an author you need to ‘pre-sell’ yourself, your brand, your author platform and your eBook through the multitude of marketing and promotional techniques outlined in our Academy. You want your eBook to sell itself, just because it came from a known and reputable brand – YOU!

We don’t make wild and misleading promises about how you are guaranteed to become a best-selling author. Unfortunately some websites and service providers do this along with charging incredibly high and unnecessary fees. Your success will be determined by you and how much effort you are going to put into achieving your goal. We will do our best to help you get there by sharing our knowledge and experience.
I personally have experienced the frustration of putting in hundreds of hours into writing an eBook only for it to sit hidden among the millions of eBooks already published in the major online stores. There was a reason for that. It wasn’t because my eBook was not worth reading but quite simply because no-one knew about it! I failed to follow through on marketing my eBook. I just didn’t know what to do so I thought if I write a great eBook then customers will find me. How wrong I was! That was 2004. I have learned from my past experiences.
I have also been approached by many authors who have become frustrated with the lack of results they receive from their marketing campaign. This is often due to many reasons. One common reason is that they just expect things to happen quickly and easily. The reality with eBook marketing is that it takes time. So plan for your results to appear over time and if they appear sooner than expected then that’s just a bonus. This is why you will soon learn that successful eBook marketing begins well before your eBook has been completed!
